Cheek Bone Reduction

What is a Cheek Bone Reduction?

Cheek Bone

The cheekbone reduction, which is also called the zygoma reduction, is a very effective way to make the face not only smaller but to make a smoother facial impression. Having large cheeks often give a very strong appearance. The cheek reduction surgery does not only reduce the width of the face but also softens facial features, creating an overall harmonious impression. The zygoma surgery is conducted with considering the ratio of the entire face, and achieving a gentle and three dimensional impression is the main goal of the surgery.

Who is it Recommended For?

1. For those who have a strong first impression due to high cheekbones
2. For those who have a bumpy facial line because of large cheekbones
3. For those who have asymmetrical cheekbones
4. For those who have conspicuous side and front zygoma bones
5. For those who desire a slender facial line
6. For those who are dissatisfied with their current facial contour

How is the Cheek Bone Reduction Surgery Performed?

Cheek Bone

To soften the facial features, a small incision is made inside the mouth in the upper cheek on both sides. Cuts are made to the front and back of the cheekbone and additional cuts are made on the temporal areas. Using these incisions, the front and sides of the bone is pushed back and fixed tightly to prevent any movement. Dissolvable materials can be used so that the plates are not visible through x-rays. Fracturing and cutting of the bones to minimize any sort of side effects or possibility of a re-operation is the most important part of the cheek reduction surgery. A perfect final fixation is the key-point. K-Doctors will guide you to the right surgeon with full experience in the facial contouring field.

Square Jaw Reduction

What is a Square Jaw Reduction?

Square Jaw

Although in some parts of the Western culture think of a square looking jaw to be sexy for women, the aesthetic beauty trend within most Asian countries tend to think of a v-shaped jaw as beautiful. Alongside with the cheek bone reduction, the square jaw reduction surgery is among the most popular operations undergone by patients out of the facial contouring procedures. The aesthetic effect can be seen at an instant. The square jaw reduction surgery is also called the v-line surgery, or in more technical terms, maxillofacial square jaw reduction or mandible angle resection. A square jaw is when the lower jaw bone’s size is wide and causes a square-like facial appearance. Specifically, the bone beneath the ear can cause the face to look larger. Removing the angular jaw line and creating a slender V line is the aim of this surgery.

Who is it Recommended For?

1. For those who have a wide jaw
2. For those who have a square like, angled jaw
3. For those with minor asymmetry in the lower jaw area
4. For those who desire a slender jaw line

How is the Square Jaw Surgery Performed?

Square Jaw

When operating the square jaw surgery, the first step is to make incisions inside the mouth from the second molar to the canines. The needed or wanted shape is formed by making a trim from the back of the jaw to the mental foramen. By removing just the outer layer of the jaw, the width of the face is made slimmer. This is called cortex removal. The amount of trimming depends on the severity of width.

* Please be aware that all facial bone contouring surgeries is conducted using oral incisions and under general anesthesia. A patient will go through a CT scan before the doctor can diagnose one’s condition. The best advice the most suitable surgical method will be given alongside with K-Doctors professional beauty team guiding you through the whole process.

Chin Surgery

What is a Chin Surgery?

Chin

There are many ways to conduct a chin Surgery. Also known as chin osteotomy, the surgery intention is to extend or decrease the chin length. The chin surgery is also very commonly combined with the jaw surgery, which involves moving the jaws backward or forward. A patient does not have to always have to go through bone surgery for the chin itself. Even though the main method is to fix the chin bone through surgery, in certain cases, insertion of fat grafting or placing implants may be recommended according to each patient’s chin status. Since there are many types of chin, a patient must be diagnosed thoroughly before undergoing the operation. The aesthetical view point is to place surgery on a wide, retreated, long, and short chin.

Who is it Recommended For?

1. For those who have a short chin, retreated chin, wide chin, or long chin
2. For those who have a small chin compared to the total facial ratio
3. For those who have an excessively developed chin
4. For those who are dissatisfied with their current lower facial line

Chin Surgery Types and Methods

Type 1 Wide Chin

Chin

For a wide chin the T osteotomy is the usual surgical method. The chin is fractured into a T shape in order to reduce both the width and length of the chin.

Type 2 Retreated Chin

Chin

There are mainly two ways in correcting and improving a chin which is retreated too much. The first way is to advance the chin bone. When conducting this surgery, the front part of the chin is fractured and advanced forward. The second method is to insert an implant. The fascia from the front chin is removed before placing the implant.

Type 3 Long Chin

Chin

For a chin that is longer than the ideal facial ratio, the end of the chin is incised, removed, and last of all, sutured.

Type 4 Short Chin

Chin

In many cases, for a short chin, a combination of the square jaw surgery may have to be conducted. The first step is to fracture and cut off unneeded parts of the side jaw bone. The second step is to fracture the short or receded chin. The shaved square jaw bone is then inserted into the fractured front chin.

Forehead Augmentation and Reduction

Foehead

The forehead is also a feature of the human face which is important. A well shaped forehead will contribute in making a proportioned and three dimensional look. The forehead augmentation is also called forehead contouring. While many may think that the forehead augmentation is a rare cosmetic procedure, the surgery itself is more popular than estimated. It is common for Asians and even Caucasians to have deep and hollow foreheads. Also, the forehead’s hairline position is also an important beauty factor. If the hairline is positioned too high up on the forehead, a reduction surgery can be performed to give the appropriate proportioned appearance.

What is a Forehead Augmentation Surgery?

Foehead

The forehead augmentation surgery is conducted when the front part of the head is flat or has sunken bones. The main method is to place implants or place volume through fat grafting procedures. A recessed forehead may give off a manly appearance. In this case, with a forehead augmentation surgery, an attractive appearance can be given. A sophisticated younger look is the main aim of this surgery.

Who is it Recommended For?

1. For those who have a flat forehead
2. For those who have a forehead with extreme lack of volume
3. For those who are dissatisfied with their current forehead shape
4. For those who have a bumpy forehead

Forehead Augmentation Surgical Methods

Type 1 Implant Insertion

Foehead

Custom made silicone implants are created to be inserted into the forehead. The implants are pre-verified before the surgery is performed. An incision is made within the hairline of the scalp and then the implant is inserted. The scars are not visible since it is hidden behind the hair lines.

Type 2 Fat Grafting

Foehead

After anesthesia, a thin tube is used to collect fat from the stomach, thighs, or buttocks. The collected fat is then centrifuged in order to extract only the pure fat. The pure fat is injected into the soft tissues between the forehead bone and skin to improve volume.

Forehead Reduction

What is a Forehead Reduction Surgery?

Foehead

Forehead reduction, which is commonly referred to as a hairline lowering procedure, doesn’t reduce the forehead, but rather brings down the front hair line. It is also known as scalp advancement. A high hairline or elongated forehead in women can result in a more masculine appearance. An oversized forehead can detract from a woman’s facial harmony and balance, and is particularly disliked by younger women.

** Forehead reduction surgery can sometimes be combined with hair grafting, especially in men to lower the hairline.

Who is it Recommended For?

1. For those who have a wide or long forehead
2. For those who have a long forehead when compared to the nose
3. For those who desire to look younger by reducing the facial length

How is the Forehead Reduction Surgery Performed?

Foehead

During the procedure, an irregular incision is made between the existing anterior hairline and the forehead. The hair-bearing scalp can then be lifted and moved forward. It’s important for the surgeon to understand the direction of hair growth and preservation of the scalp’s blood supply. These are technical details which help ensure optimal results.
